Making community his business: meet Naor Narkis
Updated: Jan 30, 2022
Naor started his community "Tochenistim" (content-ists) in 2017, and it grew rapidly to 25,000 members. It takes place all over - online and offline meetups, WhatsApp, Facebook, youtube, comonetize for the index and jobs, and a dedicated magazine. These days he's launching a community for community managers.

What made you start your community?
I had a really awful blog that no people read, so I decided to open a place where I can find what would be interesting and get to know my audience real needs.
What were the member’s needs that the community fulfilled? What is the main value it gives to its members?
The ability to create great content and find others that help you do it. There are so many new platforms and ways to create content and we wish to be the one place where people can understand how to do it in a great atmosphere.
When you started it, did you think it was going to become what it is today, or did you have something else in mind?
I had no idea it would grow to fast to this size. I though it would be only me and several colleagues :)
Even though communities are social structures, many activities and connections in the community can be quantified. What’s the main actual value your community provides to its members?
A place that can lead you to be better professionally in so many ways.
Does your community have a business model that helps you grow it? Can you share the main income channels for the community?
We use Comonetize for our subscription site and job board, I give lectures (Paid) and Consulting to Corporation about content and community.
What is the main difference between a community manager to a community entrepreneur?
Community manager has to be a real part of the community, every day, and understand what is happening there. Community entrepreneur can sometimes be under the hood but he thinks more about the vision of the community and can answer the question:”how would It look like in 5 years?”
Can you give 3 tips for community entrepreneurs?
